The Purpose Foods Story

As a father to two young boys, Scott Taylor, president and founder of Purpose Foods, was frustrated and angered by the food choices marketed to his children by corporations and government schools. He knew excessive sugar can cause a host of health problems, and it seemed as if everything offered to his kids was loaded with it.

For the past few decades, Americans have been dramatically changing the way they eat by substituting whole grains and vegetables that are high in fiber, with heavily processed foods that are high in fat, salt and sugar. The result is that 2 thirds of Americans are overweight, 25% have high blood pressure, twenty million have diabetes, and almost 60 million have pre-diabetes.

The problem is that food choices are being driven by convenience and taste, not by health. To answer the problem, Scott founded Purpose Foods. His mission: to create products that are not only convenient and delicious, but also filled with life-changing health benefits.

His first goal was to come up with a sweetener that kids and adults could use to satisfy their sweet cravings without the ill effects of sugar or artificial products, which anecdotal evidence suggests may be linked to serious health problems. (Splenda and Equal say they're safe, but nobody really knows the long-term impact of chemical sweeteners.)

After considering many potential ingredients, Scott chose fiber for its proven health benefits. Found in whole grains, vegetables such as corn, onions, carrots, sweet potatoes, beans, and in fruits such as apples, bananas, grapes and cherries, fiber is filled with benefits for your heart and digestive system.

After years of research and testing, Scott and his team at Purpose Foods have created Sweet Fiber, an all natural, 0 calorie sweetener made with fiber. No other sweetener is better at helping you lose weight, manage diabetes or improve your overall health.
